is a production company established by a group of experienced professionals to make the series ‘With some honey and plenty of money’ about Edward Lear's travels in Greece and Albania.

Lear Productions has secured independent funding
and the series, which is being filmed in High Definition, will be offered to the world television market in 2008.

The Team...

DEREK SMITH (Director)
began making Television documentaries in the 1980’s and spent several years at Tyne Tees Television’s arts unit making award winning films before setting up as an independent and then moving to London. He has made portraits of figures as diverse as Lucian Freud, John Tavener and The Dalai Lama. Derek has a reputation for producing sensitive, visually bold films.

QUENTIN RUSSELL (Writer/Producer)
is a writer, designer and art historian. He is a specialist in 19th Century Greek history

MARK LAVENDER (Producer)
produced the film FROZEN, which was released in the U.K. in 2006 with the support of the UK Film Council distribution fund. It was premiered in Leicester Square, London and since has been selected for forty festivals worldwide. It has already won eleven awards. He has also worked in television as series producer, producer and director for ITV, BBC and Channel Four. His award winning programmes have included drama shorts and drama documentaries.

ROBERT HORNE (Presenter)
is an adventurer, traveller and writer with a keen interest in art and science fiction
